Top Gay-Friendly Hotels

Caesars Palace, Las Vegas
Caesars Palace, part of the Harrah's hotel chain, was named as gay friendly by 365gay.com. The hotel’s Colosseum Theater, recently host to performances by Cher and Bette Midler, has been called 'the gayest performance space in town,' according to GayCities, a popular travel guide.

Encore Wynn, Las Vegas
The Encore, one of Vegas' top luxury hotels, is also one of the most welcoming to LGBT travelers. A special 'pride concierge” can provide information about Vegas' gay-friendly bars, entertainment and nightlife. Encore's sister hotel next door, the Wynn, shares the Encore's gay-friendly approach. It has hosted LGBT events in the Blush Boutique Nightclub, and same-sex ceremonies can be arranged in the hotel's wedding salons.

Hotel Palomar, San Francisco
This downtown boutique hotel caters to sophisticated lovebirds, who appreciate the free wine hour, every night, and paintings on the walls, borrowed from local museums. The hotel's New American restaurant is a great spot for an upscale cuisine with an extensive wine list. Art lovers can request the Rene Magritte Suite, with its blue sky ceiling, a bowler hat, and a bowl of green apples.

Luxe Hotel Sunset Blvd, Los Angeles
Popular for weddings and conventions, Luxe Hotel Sunset Blvd, located in Bel Air, is a 160-room luxury boutique hotel. It may be far removed from the action of Santa Monica and Hollywood, but it offers 522-square-foot standard rooms with free Wi-Fi and extra amenities (tennis court, pool, spa, free business center) that spread over an expansive 7-acre estate.

Hilton Checkers, Los Angeles
This clean, comfortable and historic downtown LA boutique caters primarily to business travelers. It has luxurious rooms and a rooftop pool and Jacuzzi, with killer views. The tasteful, private atmosphere and modern decor compensate for the small rooms.

Nine Zero Hotel, Boston
The Nine Zero's stylish and recently renovated rooms, free nightly wine hour, excellent on-site steakhouse, and central location across the street from the Boston Common, make this a solid midrange boutique option.

W Hotel, San Francisco
You can't ask for a closer location to the Moscone Convention Center than this W outpost in the SoMa Art District. The property offers a responsive, on-site concierge and rooms with an extensive pillow menu, plus bright work desks, minibars, iPod docks, 24-hour room service, and Wi-Fi. Add the 24-hour fitness center, heated lap pool, 5,000-square-foot Bliss Spa, and a restaurant with an award-winning wine list, and this becomes a stellar choice for the corporate crowd.

Hotel Madera, Washington, DC
This 82-room boutique with stylish interiors sits on a tree-lined residential street in Dupont Circle, D.C.'s center of nightlife and dining. A can-do staff, up-to-date guest rooms, a jewel of a restaurant, and a vibrant location add up to a solid value.

Surfcomber Hotel, Miami
The Doubletree Surfcomber plays host to some of the area's biggest gay events, and it’s arguably Miami's gay-friendliest hotel. It was the official host hotel for the 2009 Winter Party -- a week-long gay festival -- as well as lesbian Aqua girl party. Its heated pool with a waterfall was the setting for fun pool parties for both events.

60 Thompson, NYC
The flagship of the boutique Thompson hotels brand, 60 Thompson has nondiscriminatory hiring policies, a domestic partner benefits program for LGBT employees, and includes LGBT sensitivity issues in its sales and hospitality training. The SoHo boutique has a hip nightlife scene, including the members-only rooftop bar, A60, is a celebrity hot spot.

Donovan House, Washington, DC
Named for WWII spy and father of the CIA, 'Wild Bill' Donovan, this hotel’s sensual rooms come with black leather headboards, a frosted cocoon shower, Veuve Clicquot in the minibar, and a 'Pleasure Pack' with not one, but two types of personal lubricant. Throw in a sultry rooftop pool, an exotic Pan-Asian restaurant, and an ideal location surrounded by dining and nightlife, and you have all the makings of a clandestine weekend that you won’t forget.

Boston Harbor Hotel
The extraordinary views of -- you guessed it -- Boston Harbor are this property's unique asset. A $75 upgrade guarantees a stunning vantage point, and the luxuriously appointed rooms are so huge you'll never have to leave.

The Muse, NYC
The Muse, part of the Kimpton Hotel chain, often offers special LGBT discounts, like the 'Summer of Pride' deal. The company is a sponsor of Parents and Friends of Lesbians and Gays and National Lesbian and Gay Journalist Association, among other LGBT-friendly groups. The Muse has a hip wine bar, a newly renovated interior, and a Times Square location so you can hit the gay bars in Hell's Kitchen or catch a play or musical at the theater.

Hotel Victor, Miami
Hotel Victor is right at the intersection of 12th St. and Ocean Drive -- directly across the street from the gay portion of South Beach. The hotel's sexy, clothing-optional Turkish hammam draws both gay and straight exhibitionists. The Palace, across the street to the north of the hotel, is the gay cafe and bar that hosts a weekly drag cabaret show.
